“You can achieve a lot with pragmatists, but little with ideology-driven people.”
Housing construction is currently suffering. Not only because of the high interest charges and construction costs, but also due to the far-reaching requirements of the cities.
Under the title "The cities demand so much until it starts to crack", the Immobilien Zeitung deals with precisely these municipal requirements in its article. Within this context, our founder and Managing Director Gerald Tschörner was also asked.
Guest commentary in the Immobilien Zeitung 45/2023
Residential development does not pay off. And has not for a good three years. In his guest commentary in Immobilien Zeitung, our managing director and founder Gerald Tschörner explains why this is the case and why it is not just a simple complaint from an industry that is experiencing less comfortable times after twelve years of boom.

The fact that the revitalization of the MORROW was an exemplary project is shown by the recently awarded DGNB Diamond Award. It is the first revitalization project ever to receive this award. With the DGNB Platinum certificate, we have demonstrated together with Art Invest Real Estate that the revitalization is based on the highest sustainability standards. The diamond certificate further confirms the outstanding architectural quality of the building.
The latest DGNB blog post highlights the fascinating story of MORROW and its successful revitalization.
Interview with Gerald Tschörner in Immobilienbrief
On the occasion of the DGNB Diamond Award for our revitalization project MORROW in Frankfurt's Westend, developed together with Art-Invest Real Estate, our Managing Director Gerald Tschörner gave an in-depth interview in the current Immobilienbrief No. 552.
In the interview, you can read about the challenges that had to be addressed in redeveloping MORROW, why collaboration is key, and the values that go into all of our projects.
Awarded and unique in Frankfurt: DGNB Diamond for the MORROW.
The first office building ever in the city and the first redevelopment of an existing building to receive this honour. The prerequisite for this is an existing certification in gold or platinum from the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Nachhaltiges Bauen (German Sustainable Building Council, DGNB for short) complemented by outstanding architecture. We succeeded in combining both - sustainability and aesthetics - in the revitalisation of the existing building in Frankfurt's Westend district in a way that is particularly worth seeing.
DGNB platinum certification for Red Square office buildings
All office project developments of the last 10 years have been awarded the coveted platinum certification of the DGNB – German Sustainable Building Council.
Therefore, the topic of being future-oriented is a lasting focus for all Red Square projects. After all, the DGNB only awards platinum to buildings that meet the highest sustainability criteria in the categories of ecological, socio-cultural/functional and economic quality in planning and implementation.
The 12-member jury of the renowned FIABCI Prix d'Excellence for outstanding project developments has honoured our MORROW revitalisation project in Frankfurt's Westend, developed together with Art-Invest Real Estate, in the category "Official Selection 2022". Many thanks to the sponsors of the award, FIABCI Germany, and the BFW Bundesverband Freier Immobilien- und Wohnungsunternehmen e.V.
The number of new construction projects in Frankfurt continues to decline and investors are now avoiding the metropolis. But why?
For the current article "Investors turn their backs on Frankfurt: The urban exodus of housing developers", the Frankfurter Neue Presse asked our managing director Gerald Tschörner, among others, for his comment on the current problem.
The government has made it clear: 400,000 new flats are to be built according to the coalition agreement. The housing construction industry is called upon to get it done. High time for a reality check. Where and how can urban housing potential be developed more quickly? What challenges does the sector face? And what framework conditions must be created for this, also outside the metropolitan regions?
In his Handelsblatt Inside Real Estate article "Less regulation, more pragmatism", our founder and managing director Gerald Tschörner explains what the housing construction industry wants from policy-makers. Why it is better to roll up our sleeves together than to campaign. And why less regulation and more reality of life is needed today and tomorrow.
